I once heard somebody say, “build the life you want instead of escaping the life you have.”
How do you usually spend your spare time?
Your weekends?
Binge watching YouTube or Netflix series?
Scrolling on your phone?
Reading books?
Are you doing everything you possibly can to distract yourself from thinking about the full week of work that’s waiting for you?
Well, let me be straight with you, you’re probably trying to escape the life you have…
Something just isn’t feeling right for you the way you’re already living and instead of doing something about it you distract yourself from it.
The only thing this will lead to is more misery and pain.
This seems to be a common pattern throughout the world.
I used to behave like this.
We’re so scared of leaving our “safe” jobs that we tend to miss our personal life instead.
We’re so scared of the new and unknown that we’d rather stay where we are.
We’d rather spend an entire weekend and fill it with distractions just to feel somewhat better.
But as always, distractions will only lead to things getting worse in the long run.
What if we instead started using this valuable free time to do things which actually make us feel better?
What would your life look like if everything was your way?
The only thing stopping you from living that way is obstacles which your own brain sets for you.
Sure, your job might very well require a ton of your time and energy.
But let’s not forget you’re the one that chose it yourself.
And just as you chose this job you can choose another one as well.
If you’re struggling with rent, I get that, but again, you chose to live where you do.
Notice the pattern?
You are most often the only one responsible for any situations you find yourself caught up in.
And you yourself is the one that needs to do something about it.
We need an income, and we need a place to live.
Where we choose to do those things is our own choice.
So perhaps instead of blaming everything around us for times being tough we have the choice to adapt and do something about it.
We also have the choice to ignore it and hope for the best.
And doing something about it doesn’t necessarily mean starting your own business venture and getting rich.
No, it can simply mean moving to another location that you can actually afford.
It can mean getting a different job that suits you and your needs better.
And it can of course also mean starting your business and taking your own route entirely.
But by doing nothing to solve the situation you find yourself in will get you nowhere at all.
Moving and finding a new job isn’t the easiest of tasks either but these things are usually where people struggle the most and feel overwhelmed about life.
I totally get that you might find it difficult right now and perhaps don’t have a lot of options.
Perhaps you love your job or your home and don’t even want to move.
But moving doesn’t have to be permanent and it certainly isn’t the only option.
You can move somewhere more affordable while you build up a new career.
You can educate yourself and then find a job that better aligns with your desires.
You can do anything really – all it takes is the courage to look outside of your comfort zone and for you to realize that things don’t have to be permanent, unless you ignore them entirely.
Your situation is probably not the same as mine which means your solution will most likely not be the same as mine either.
Find your core problem and do something about it.
At the end of the day we all get the same amount of time each day to live.
Both the richest people on earth and the poorest ones, everyone gets the same.
It’s how we choose to spend that time that matters.
If you’re fine with ignoring your core issues and simply hoping for the best all the time, then so be it – it’s your call.
But if you’re tired of how you’re living now and want to actually do something about it like me, this site has everything I would’ve wanted or needed to actually do so…
And if it doesn’t, I’ll do my best in creating it for you.
Just remember, your life becomes what you make of it.
