“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop” – Confucius

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."

You know, we’ve become extremely impatient lately because of how quickly we can do anything.

And when things go a bit slower than we expected, we don’t view it as valid.

We view it as something not good which should be avoided completely.

We had envisioned going forward very quickly and when we instead go a lot slower, we’re not pleased and can sometimes stop doing it entirely as a result.

It seems like we’re forgetting that we are in fact still moving and only tend to look at the negative side of it.

This is one of the reasons that’s stopping most people from achieving what they’re truly capable of.

Our laziness and comfort zone.

Our lack of willingness to let things take its time.

The vision of getting things over with quickly and seeing fast results.

What’s important to remember though, is that we’re at least still moving forward.

We’re going somewhere instead of nowhere.

This used to be the truth for me as well.

I had a vision of where I wanted to go, how I could get there, and basically a lot of the road laid down.

I did some minor things here and there and obviously weren’t seeing any ground-breaking results.

I took some action, but I lacked in full on execution.

It took almost a year of very slow progress when I finally realized I had to change things up.

What I take with me though is that I never stopped, I at least did something.

Although the very small progress would never lead even close to my goals, they turned out to serve as the foundation for everything else.

The very small steps I took, eventually led to something big happening.

And when something big happened I came to realize that I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I got if I would’ve stopped completely back then.

I let the small steps slowly develop into daily habits and I let the progress take its time.

Have you stopped because you were going too slow and seeing no results?

Or are you going to use the slow progress to fuel your engine?

Remember, if you stop entirely, you will never arrive to your destination.

But if you’re going slow, you will arrive some time.
