“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans."

There’s no pause button to life.

Time is ticking regardless of how we spend it.

When we’re planning for something, we’re actively using our time, but we’re getting nowhere.

When we act on something, we’re actively using our time, and we’re moving forward.

Even if we end up failing, we’ve learned something new.

We’ve progressed.

In “plan-mode” there’s no feedback, there’s nothing to track, there’s nothing to compare to.

You won’t get anything clear to evaluate because you haven’t done anything to evaluate.

Planning does not necessarily equal action.

Only when planning is directly linked with action is it called progress.

Otherwise, being stuck in “planning-mode” means you’re scared of stepping into the uncomfortable unknown of action.

No matter how great your plan is, it’s just a plan until it’s executed.

Look, the only one ever stopping you from switching to “action mode” is yourself.

But time keeps ticking, whether you’re planning or actively taking actions.

Life’s not waiting for you to step out of your comfort zone.

The longer you wait and the longer you “plan”, the less time you get to actually enjoy life for what it is.

The less time you get to try your way forward, embrace failures as experience and do the things that really bring you joy and a sense of meaning.

The less time you get to focus on controlling what you can control – yourself.

Life can be this wonderful adventure you get to enjoy.

But as long as you stay scared and hidden in your comfortable space masked as “planning”, life will just be an adventure without you in it.

Life will happen around you, instead of within you.

Don’t let it.

Don’t be stuck “waiting” – be active living.
