Let it go, let it go……

Seriously, just let it go.

Whatever’s stuck on your mind that’s bothering you, let go of it.

Whatever’s holding you hostage to your own life, let go of it.

Are you an overthinker like I used to be?

Are you constantly trying to work out what everyone else thinks of you, like I used to do?

Are you completely fixated to your screen like I used to be?

Yes, that’s right – used to be, used to do.

Not anymore.

I know how annoying it is having millions of thoughts running in our brain constantly.

Where every thought splits into many many segments of new thoughts and potential outcomes making basically every decision extremely difficult to make.

The only thing I wanted to do was to escape, so I grabbed my phone and started scrolling.

I got overwhelmed with the endless distractions and I certainly didn’t solve my issues, I just kept postponing them for another day.

There was no space for peace.

No space for being present.

Your thoughts take up the entire brain capacity and it’s constantly overloaded with dopamine kicks.

There’s almost always a solution, you just have to dig deep to find it.

You have to put in the effort and actually take the necessary actions to solve it.

There was a point in my life where I just said, you know what, life is waaaay too short to be spent on worrying.

To be spent on distracting ourselves from living it fully.

It “only” took countless of videos of people saying it loud and clear to me, before I finally realized it – life is very short.

And that’s when everything changed for me.

Not instantly with a bang, but it marks the starting point of solving yet another of my issues I was struggling with – clearing my brain.

Imagine you are to make a tough decision about something in your life.

There’s a lot to think of and consider.

Now, imagine it with overthinking.

Everything you have to consider, now has thousands of its own things to consider.

Your brain calculating every step of the way from start to finish in a ridiculous number of different ways.

It works day and night to try and figure everything out and what the best approach is.

What is the best approach?

Turns out that after having been this deep into thinking, the decision was no longer relevant, or I just didn’t want to do it anymore.

This is what happened all day every day for me, even to the smallest of decisions – and that was annoying.

But I just couldn’t help it.

When being in public, I was sooo afraid of what others thought of me to a point where my brain almost collapsed inside.

It was so scary, and I felt like every single eye in the area was looking at my direction and judged me for my smallest of movements.

I feared moving my arms even an inch.

It may sound extreme but that’s how a lot of people feel unfortunately – and it’s very scary.

To make matters worse, anything that someone said to me found it’s place in my brain, anything.

It was so clogged up from conversations with people and none of the things were necessarily bad, just regular chatter.

Can you imagine how that feels?

Perhaps you’ve been in a similar point in life?

Where nothing makes sense, and your brain just won’t stop thinking about it?

Letting go of things that seem completely stuck in your brain is not easy.

Like when a song is constantly being played inside you and you just can’t get it to end.

Like me feeling like I have a huge spotlight pointed at me and getting everyone’s attention.

Like me constantly worrying about…. everything.

One thing that was of huge importance was journaling.

Extremely powerful.

Writing down my thoughts in my notebook it felt like a cloud storage system for my brain.

Laying down and just letting my thoughts flow for a couple of hours every once in a while and writing every single one of them down.

Letting my brain catch up from everything that’s happened.

It’s sooo easy to get caught up in the storm and feel like you constantly have to do something.

We have a never-ending flow of entertainment and platforms literally sucking our lives away from us.

It’s extremely easy to feel overwhelmed today because of all the things fighting for our attention.

It’s no longer a question of whether we should watch/do something or not – it’s a question of which one and what’s next.

A huge problem which seems to slip under most people’s radars.

Even if you feel like you can handle it now, there will be a point where you can’t anymore.

The overwhelm your brain constantly have to go through, sometimes without noticing, is harmful and the best thing you can do for yourself is to avoid any overwhelming platforms entirely.

It may very well feel like you’re letting go of your entire life, but to be honest, by not setting yourself free from them is really when you let go of your life.

Imagine being tied to a boat that’s flowing on a steam of water.

Every piece of land you pass by is your dreams, relationships – your life.

Because you’re tied up and can’t escape, you’ll miss it all out.

You have no control over yourself or the boat.

Do you really want to live your entire life handcuffed to a boat that gives you a constant flow of dopamine and missed opportunities.

Are they really the only thing your life is about?

Are those apps and platforms really worth living for?

Come on.

If you feel like things is just too much for you, take a break, lay down and let your brain think.

And if you don’t feel that way, just do so anyway.

Let go of the thoughts holding you hostage to your own life.

Let go of the distractions tying you to a boat that leads you to missing your life.

Let go of anything leading you in the opposite direction of where you want to go, no matter hard it is.

The more you wait, the harder it will be.

Life is waaaay too short to be spent on worrying.

And it certainly is too short to distract yourself from living it.
